Despite moves by the government this year to restrict the operation of VLTs outside of licensed casinos, machines in the Czech Republic are still subject to less stringent regulation than elsewhere in Europe.

The Polish Government appears to have made very little progress with plans announced in 2006 to introduce regulations for Internet gambling. Despite the legal uncertainty, however, many of Europe’s leading operators continue to actively target the Polish market.

Political uncertainty and questions of European law mean that online gambling operators in the Czech Republic are confident that the Government’s latest plan to clamp down on internet gambling will fail to get off the ground.
