The Italian government’s reply to the EU regarding the recent case of the 329 Italian betting shop owners who were allowed to extend their concessions rather than partake in the country’s 1999 bid process for horse racing licences is expected soon, with leaks from within the administration suggesting that there may be a new tender process for licences.
