Influential anti-gambling figures in Australia have called for the new Rudd Government to make good on pre-election promises to tackle the growth of poker machine gaming throughout the country by introducing nationally binding regulations, such as the introduction of a smartcard system and the withdrawal of ATMs from gaming venues.
