The Gaming Act of 1995 was introduced four years after Slovenia gained its independence. There are currently 13 casinos, 41 gaming halls and two lotteries. Recently Slovenia placed new regulations on technical standards for gaming devices before the European Commission - these have now come into operation.
Slovenia is a developing gaming jurisdiction in the process of expansion. Whilst gaming was available here prior to independence from the Yugoslavian Federation, it was limited to foreigners. It was not until 1995 that the Gambling Act came into operation and since then regulations made pursuant to this Act have been implemented.
The most recent of these regulations are new technical standards which have been placed before the European Commission. Gambling Compliance has conducted a comprehensive review of these technical standards against the backdrop of the Slovenian gaming market.
With no limitation on the number of gaming devices in a casino in Slovenia and an expanding casino industry, this report will be of interest to those who are involved in the slot machines sector. For more information on this report see the table of contents below or contact
