Earlier today Australia's High Court delivered a landmark ruling on a claim brought by Betfair against the state of Western Australia. According to Jamie Nettleton, partner at Australian law firm Addison's, any party obtaining a licence in an Australian jurisdiction is now likely to be able to provide wagering services to residents throughout Australia and any existing state restrictions on their activities are likely to be unenforceable.
