Spanish gaming operator Codere and Brazilian racetrack owners are lobbying the Brazilian government to reverse a decision taken by the Ministry of Agriculture to ban international simulcasts at racetracks in the country. Observers say that the ban, upheld after a challenge issued by Brazil’s national lottery, threatens the future of the Brazilian racing industry, as well as Codere’s substantial investment in on-track betting operations in Latin America.
