Rank’s trading statement this week made such modest claims of improvement that it provoked one analyst to suggest that the best news was that it 'doesn’t sound like the numbers were being talked down'. But, elsewhere in the analyst community, the champagne remains on ice in hopes that the Government might finally rescue the bingo industry with proposals to boost machine income.
