A newly-established cross-party gambling committee has pledged to draw up sweeping new gaming legislation in Mexico, with members even hinting that full-scale casinos could be introduced under a new law. Such promises have been heard before however, and the timing of the recent announcements leads some observers to question whether the committee’s stated goals could be achievable.
