The Sporting Emporium, a Dublin-based private members club owned by Irish racing tycoon Dermot Desmond, has reported sharply widening losses for the period to October 2007. The disclosure comes ahead of a major industry gathering next month that will discuss the possibility of tighter licensing controls on the clubs.
