Taiwan’s Presidential Office yesterday dismissed reports that President Ma Ying-jeou had asked for a separate task force be formed to study the possibility of establishing casinos on the nation’s outlying islands. The government instead promised to have their report on the legalization of gambling and casinos ready by the end of the month, with local referenda following later.
