A congressional gaming committee last week submitted a draft law that would create a new regulatory authority for gambling to oversee the introduction of Las Vegas-style slot machines to Mexico’s rapidly expanding gaming market, and also instigate a ban on online wagering. The project could be voted on in Congress before mid-term elections in July 2009.
