The head of Macau’s gaming regulator has said that the legalisation of casino gambling in Taiwan will come to represent increased competition for Macau’s casino sector in the “medium to long term”. The admission comes as the operators of some of Macau’s largest casino venues express muted interest in the prospects for casino gambling on Taiwan’s outlying islands.
