While the chair of the National Lottery Commission has felt compelled to defend their recent licensing process to select an operator to run the UK lottery, incumbent operator Camelot is already looking beyond the recently completed tender and is lobbying the Treasury for a reform of lottery taxation in the wake of competition from gambling services liberalised under the 2005 Gambling Act.
