Complaints filed by the country’s land-based industry and charity lottery operator ONCE have provoked the Spanish Treasury to begin an investigation into the legal status of online gambling companies active in Spain. At issue is the question of possible tax fraud charges and at the same time reports suggest that a judge in Barcelona has opened investigations into the Spanish arm of Sportingbet.
